USS G. Bush CVN-77

OK you ship experts, my son just was assigned to the USS G. Bush. I would like to build one for him. I see that Trumpeter has the Nimitz in 1/350 for the 1975 version, my question is how much would I have to change to get to the USS G. Bush 2011-2012.  I have not built a ship in decades, any help will be appreciated.

If you want to built a modern Nimitz Class Carrier, you may have to look at the Trumpeter 1-700 Kit. Still very well detailed for its size and a lot less expensive.....Cheers Mark

The Bush and the Reagan have a different flight deck from the other Nimitz class. The landing area is at a greater angle and there are only 3 arresting gears as to allow launches from cat 2 while recovering aircraft.

The Reagan and the Bush have a different underwater hull form from any other Nimitz, especially at the bow.  Check out the 1/720 Italeri USS Ronald Reagan for an idea.  Also, the electronics mast aft of the island on earlier Nimitz class ships has been integrated into the island on Reagan and Bush.

The USS George H. W. Bush CVN-77 is very different from earlier Nimitz class CVN Its island is very different than the USS Ronald Reagan CVN-76 and earlier Nimitz class CVN.  It also has a large number of low observable refinements and a slightly different flight deck than CVN-76. Trumpy or Italeri will probably issue a new kit. though I have not heard anything.
