Besides the Dreadnought kit and all the Photo Etch the next best accessory will be to try to obtain tha Conway Maritime Press Anatomy of the Ship book about this vessel. Brilliant reference source!

Force9

Hello Don

Here is the main index page

http://pontosmodel.com/index.htm

The simpler set is likely the Wooden Deck package - it includes the decals and a small sheet of PE for the deck details and some skylights:

(They've also just posted test shots of the new "premium" Yamato set... Oh boy)

Good luck

Thanks!

In talking to my LHS, I find that Pontos may have two sets for the Dreadnaught, the one shown in the above post and a simpler, cheaper version.  I have been unable to guess the URL for the home page and their general catalog, so am not sure. Does anyone know their home page?  I have tried parsing the one for the 90 buck set without success.

mfsob...

I'm sure they offer a supplemental set that includes the kitchen sink AND the Admiral's shaving kit... Wink

Good Lord ... but on examining the frets on that set, I did find one omission - the kitchen sink.

Force9,

I humbly stand corrected! That is a truly outstanding set that is now on my wish list.

The WEM set is very nice, but that's not the one to get...

This one is: http://pontosmodel.com/html/35002f1.html

My pal Rasper from another forum pointed this set out after purchasing it at the Telford show in England. I don't think I've ever seen a PE set before with this degree of detail... includes wooden deck, turned barrels, and some resin parts.  It even includes a PE mesh representation of the torpedo nets!

Spend the $90 bucks or whatever - a bargain... gotta be worth it.  I believe Hobbydecal is the USA distributor.

Hope you'll post pictures when you get to building the beast...

(Very nice set offered for you HMS Warspite fans as well...)

Don,

WEM produces a nice set for the Dreadnought.  There is also a wooden deck for her, but I forget who produces it.

Just picked up the HMS Dreadnaught from Zvesda.  Does anyone know if there is a PE set yet for that kit?
