Note: passenger ships are the hardest to find.I found the AIDA in 1/400 yesterday at my local HOBBYTOWN . It was $ 89.96 and that,s possibly a little high .They , REVELL , had this ship in, I believe, 1/1200 as well .I could be wrong.          tankerbuilder

Welcome, I am not new to the hobby but I am new to the forum and have found it to be a most helpful tool and a way to gain insight from those who are much more wise and experienced from myself! Best piece of advice is to go SLOW and enjoy your build.

Fairly new at this myself. Don't rush and have fun. Hope to see pics of your project soon!

i've got about 15 of those kits that i'm in the process of converting to the pennsylvania 1945, oklahoma dec 7 1941, nevada 1945, new york 1941, texas 1945 & new mexico class, tennessee class & colorado class-different stages of ww2. pennsylvania is about 90% done, oklahoma & nevada hulls shortened & torpedoe bulges added, texas shortened with sloped deck, 1 new mexico hull lengthened with modified clipper bow & torpedoe bulges added & 1 tennessee hull being lengthened with clipper bow.

I would say the most important tip I could give is TAKE YOUR TIME. Dont rush things and dont feel like you have to work on it, Ive noticed that I tend to get sloppy if I build when im not in the mood to. The forums are a great place for help- me being a fairly new modeler (I build jets) I have found they are very useful, dont be afraid to ask questions cause there are alot of very expierienced builders here. You can also post pictures of the model during painting and ask what people think about it and get some tips. Have fun.

Hey,KRose! Just a little hint here.If you want to be historically correct,you will want to know this.The ARIZONA on DEC.7 1941 was a faded dark sea blue.and the turret tops were an orangy red EXCEPT the one with the catapult on it.       TANKERbuilder     P.S. The fighting tops were a light (almost white) grey from the stack top up.

That was my first model, just remember to take it slow, and paint all the parts before gluing them on. Also be sure to add the 8 inch guns (Unlike i did)!!!
