I have the same Akagi too,not yet built. I think Hasegawa re-issued it last year. I see one recently in my local hobby shop. Do you know which company will issue a 1/350 scale?

I am currently building the 1/450 Akagi by Hasegawa. I have had the kit for many years, but after a visit to Pearl Harbor in February and seeing a 1/96 model of the Akagi I was inspired to begin my kit. Problem is that I am unsure of an accurate deck color and did not get photos of the 1/96 masterpiece. Can anyone assist me in my search to get an accurate wood deck color? Hopefully something close to an FS number? I usually work with Model Master paints and would like to stick with them if possible. All assistance appreciated

i have a 350 scale zuikaku, and if they going to have a 300 scale akagi or kaga that would be nice, what do you think the average prices would be, the zuikaku i bought was around 70$.

If you are interested in the Akagi, be sure to check out the photos in Fine Scale Modeler of Don Preul's 1/96 Akagi, made in cooperation with a couple of other modelers, if I recall correctly. I also have some shots of that model on my website, Warship Models Underway.

Be patient folks, you'll probably have an Akagi in 1/350 by mid-late 2004, in plastic, and affordable.

Hasegawa puts out a 1/450 scale Akagi. That's the only large size I have ever seen of it. This is another ship I too would like to see in 1/350 scale. Try www.pacificfront.com or the navalbasehobbies.com. I don't think I can help you much more than this since I live in Singapore.

Seems I remember someone like Tamiya or Hasegawa doing a large scale model of the Akagiback in the 70's. Anyone remember? If it was 1:350 where can I get one? I know Nichimo did a 200 scale Yamato and there were some large Japanese destroyers built as well
