IJN Yamato Battleship

One of a few Battleships that I've built. Built this from the Tamiya Kit # 78011.

Very nice.Is there anything you don't build?

I've been meaning to ask that for a while.

Thank you... LOL... I do try to be a well rounded model builder and build a bit of everything. I like keeping my options open. After awhile building the same type of thing you get bored. Don't you think? Big Smile

Well, one of the things that I don't build is wooded models. But if it's in plastic, I'll give it a go. Wink

Thanks... I know what you mean... When I bought this Tamiya kit back in 2006 it cost me $75.00 and that was allot of cash back then. Now they go for over $110+... Prices are getting a bit high on ALL models these days. Sad

That's why we have stashes: to defeat inflation.

Very nice Yamato. I wish I had the guts to build a ship. I've tried to do other things, but can't seem to get it done.

Amen brother... I have a nice big stash. Yes

Thank you very much... the only bad thing about building ships is the storage. They do take allot of room. But building them is allot of fun.

LOL... Thanks Gamera. I do like building different stuff. It keeps the model building hobby very interesting. Toast

Great work.  Very impressive.  I'm not a big fan of Yamato, and I'm certainly not going to shell out $250.00 plus to get the new tool kit, plus God knows how much for after market, but I'm thinking of getting an old tool kit since they are now at bargain basement prices.  Your contribution shows for a fact that the old kit still builds up into a very impressive model.  Congratulations on a great job.

Bob

Just launched:  Revell 1/249 U.S.S. Buckley w/ after market PE and guns.

Building: Italieri 1/35 P.T. 596 w/ Lion Roar PE.

Thank you very much Bob. This kit was built straight out of the box. The only thing that I added was the wires. The new tools is ok, but like you said the old kits do build up to a impressive model. Yes

Sorry for late reply, but...Wow. Nice work!

Very deserving of a finely finished mounting base and display case.

Well done.Bow Down
