Yeah I know of course I'm only 35 and I need glasses. But I'm still trying to work on my Harry S. Truman also Italeri.

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

The 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron the only Squadron to get an Air to Air kill and an Air to Ground kill in the same week with only a F-15 http://photobucket.com/albums/v332/Mikeym_us/

MIKEYM-That is a darned good idea.I was so upset that I never thought of that. At my age when a build is destroyed that way it hurts. It took me the better part of a year to build her. You know, that old eyes and aged hands thing. Well, as an L.N.G ship she will look good too.I just can,t bear to round file good plastic.     TANKERbuilder

You could always repurpose the TR's Island as a deck house and expand off of it for crew berthing and other associated areas of the ship.

The hard part was just looking at the ship on the concrete.I have only had it finished for about nine weeks! Oh,well! so goes life. The hull pieces are straight and the new decking fits like it was originally designed for this. Now where do I get the L.N.G. domes? That,s what small plastic EASTER eggs are for.You know the fat end.

The ladders and rails will come from my stash.Somewhere I have some " Z " scale model railroad tank farm stuff. It won,t look all that bad, believe it or not. Now the hard part is the deckhouse.I guess I could use the " COLOMBO EXPRESS " for patterns. HMM.    TANKERbuilder

I am sorry to report on the demise of this fair1/720 model. She was badly damaged with severe structural failure in a collision with concrete of a much larger scale. There -fore it has been decided to scrap her to a rebuild yard here in TEXAS.

The remaining hull and some associated equipment will be converted to a fast high-volume LNG-TANKER.This is the only option left open.As 1/720 models this one was neither top of the heap ,nor, anywhere near the bottom. She fit somewhere in the middle. Now,because of the very nature of ITALIERI,S way of putting this model together ,tha conversion will not be that hard.

I will from time to time give info on the conversion , with hopefully ,some photos. Please stand by--------TANKERBUILDER
