MAS FINISHED
Posted by waynec on Sunday, April 1, 2012 9:57 PM
finally got this done. just a lot of annoying problems as i relearned my building skills and started airbrushing and first big pe work. it looked crappy right up to the end when i decided enough is enough and the empty case would look rather stupid though i suspect the VOSPER would fit. a friend made the case. the bottom has 6 clamps that can be "disengaged" and the entire bottom drops out (or the top is lifted off)

I think it looks super. The crew in particular. Did the deck planking hold up under paint? I can't even see it on my kit except in direct sunlight.

Scum up at the bow- nice.

I'm still planning my engine build. probably finish it next century. Great build.

what deck planking? guess that answered that question. just pulled out the instructions for the pt boat. think the s-boat is down the road a piece and i have a bunch of other shelf queens to clean up before starting the next big model (one of the 1/35 boats or locomotives or DORA)

so now we are quoting kelly clarkson sonds i see. once i changed my attitude about model building things just fell into place. if i drop somerthing on the floor or break a part my first thought as i search for it is "how can i make a new one?" i totally trashed the 20mm ammo can racks (the 3 pe pieces for each ended up as 6 or 7 and gobs of cya. and once i decided this wasn't going to NATs i just made a jig and build new ones. most paint mistakes can be corrected. now if i could only figure out how to get the stern quqrter seams completely sanded on EMDEN w/o destroying the hull (or make it a waterline.)

Looks really good, congratulatiions on a job well done.  Looking at your MAS makes me anxious to get back to work on my P.T. 596.  And, of course, there is that Vosper in the stash.
