Stonecold6ship, on the starboard side, the catwalk for the flight deck will ultimately hide it.  You can fill it, but in the end, I found you would not see it anyway.

Here's a couple of pictures from my Review and Buildup of Tamiya's 1/350 scale USS Enterprise, CVN-65. (Click on the pic for a high res version):

Hope that helps.

Thanks.  it was a lot of fun.

I had had that model sitting around in my stach for twenty years...then I was diagnosed with cancer and had a very difficult bout in 2010 with three major surgeries, a lot of rehab, and significant disabilities.

When I got back (we live in Idaho and I had to go down to Houston to MD Anderson), and utlimately was able to return to work, my wife suggested I start back in on the models, and so I did.

She's an angel and was absolutely right.  It's been very therapuetic...and very enjoyable.

Here's my OOB Review and Build-up thread for my own build of this model here on Fine Scale Modeling:

Tamiya's 1/350 Scale USS Enterprise, My OOB Review and Build-up

Hope there is some stuff in there to not onlu answer this question, but help in your overall build.

Sorry about this being so late, I never noticed your post, If you haven't already done so, fill it! There are three other Enterprise builds on the go by MrMaker/A.M.Jorge/Jockster if you want inspiration and ideas!

Quite a project if you are new to modelling though, best of luck with your build.
