Garth I ordered the Nautilus Twin 20mm cannons and I did find some 1/76 scale figures from Milicast that should work for my cutter and I got them off of Ebay.

US Navy Oerlikon crew figures

 http://www.ebay.com/itm/310348410517?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

WWII Landing craft Bridge crew

http://www.ebay.com/itm/310400902491?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648

I also got my order in from Great Little Ships and the Carley Floats definitely look good and the Oerlikon set actually comes with 3 small Ready Ammo lockers so I will only need 2 to be set so I'll just set the rest aside for when I ever get a Flower Class Corvette.

Mike,

Ya know something?  You are right ...  they do look good.  Wish I had known about those when I was having my cutter built!

I wish I was confident enough to post  photos here, I'd post photos of the cutter here ... but I'll tell you what.  If you go to www.ptboatworld.com and click on CONTACT US, I'll email you photos of the cutter.  It has a NAUTILUS twin 20mm and two NAUTILUS single .50s.

It depicts the 95308 during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.  I am friends with the man who had command of the 95308 at that time.  He went on to command an 82 footer in Nam and the EAGLE in the 80s (where I met him).  A very nice man.

Actually Garth I also found some 1/76 scale 20mm Oerlikons (British and US versions) on the Accurate Armour site that look quite splendid and are in Resin and Photo-etch.

http://www.accurate-armour.com/ShowProduct.cfm?manufacturer=0&category=86&subcategory=263&product=1937

I'll have to check out Nautilus to see if they have the twin Oerlikons .

I'd suggest guns from Nautilus Models, that's what I did with mine.

made another order from Great Little Ships and ordered the Carley float set and the 20mm gun set (mostly for the 20mm Ready Ammo Lockers). I'll probably use one of the 20mm's on my PT-109 kit. Does anyone know if the ASW mortars on the Cape Class were similar to the ones used by the Hedgehog launchers ? And what exactly is a Mk20 box anyways (the boxes behind the Mortar launch rail)?

Use Warriors Gato Sub deck crew figures, I used the bridge crew set on my Revell PT-109. Squadron sells several sets (bridge crew, bofors gun crew, & deck gun crew) w/ figures in different poses.

That would be great to see pics of a larger scale Cape class boat. Right now I have replacement Depth charges and rope rails coming in from Great Little Boats. The pics of the Depth Charges look pretty good they come in a pack of 4 so I picked up 2 sets to replace all 8 of the depth charges and the rope rails are the 2 rail type so I'll need to use the ones I ordered to see how many I will actually need and if I need more I'll order more as I also need to order the Carley float life basket as it will replace the kit supplied ones and those come 2 to a pack so I'll be all set with that. I'll be waiting on the twin 20mm Oerlikon cannon as the one he will be releasing will be out later this year or early next year according to DJ and I have seen his single 20mm Oerlikon and I think it will be worth the wait.

Right now I'll be needing to find 1/72 scale figures for it to populate the deck as it only comes with 3 figures which aren't enough.

MIKEY-I was told that even though it,s LINDBERG and all the weld lines are out of scale of course, it,s the most accurate model of that class of cutter out there in modeland. I am at present trying to figure a way to get good pictures of my cut-away of the same model. I did one on commission in 1/35 one time and I thought a cut-away would be neat.BUT it,s all white plastic HMMM. TANKER-builder

I found a couple of sites that have 1/72 scale ship equipment one is

HR Products

http://www.hrprod.com/index.html

and the other is Great Little ships owned by the same owner of Flightpath

http://www.djparkins.com/acatalog/Great_Little_Ships.html

Great Little ships does deal with the Flower Class Corvette but some of the sets like the railing and depth charges look like they would work with my Patrol boat.

Just looked in the Sprue Brothers site and could not get the search engine to narrow down the list, regardless I clicked through all the 1/72 scale items and could not find either the German nor the US sub 20 mm AA cannons.

This is weird as I did order and receive the German ones a month or so back with no issues finding them.

Will check back later as sites search engines can be finicky at best.

Where can I find the 1/72 CMK twin Orkilons I can't find them on any of the usual online shops or even Ebay.

 SuppressionFire:

Great deal indeed!

Yes CMK has a resin twin US 20mm WWII era cannon.

I bought the German twin version, nice cast but the barrels are a tad bent. This is ok as I would replace with a hypodermic needle anyways.

Although its 1/72 scale it should work for your odd scale of 1/80. You can always add a bit of styrene to make everything larger, not sure if the fuss would be necessary or noticeable.

I picked up some recently for my Flower corvette, from Squadron, on sale.  I think they were the CMR or CMK ones- resin & pe 20 mm Oerlikons, anyway.  That was a couple of months ago, so even if not on sale I am sure Squadron would still carry them.

I went out today to community yardsale at our local Coast Guard bases housing area didn't get much but I got a Lindberg 1/80 scale motorized USCG Costal Patrol boat for $5 and a M7 Bayonete with M8A1 Scabbard for $5. It's also Ironic that I got a model of a Coast Guard boat from a yardsale at the base housing for the Coast guard base.

BTW what do I need to know about the Coastal Patrol boat I do know I need to replace the twin 20mm guns. I think CMK produces some twin 20mm cannons.
