CapnMac82

It is a bit of an annoyance that the WWII version is best met with Missouri.

And, that none of the quartet are issued in a KW sort of way..

To my mind, they ought be released as Mizzou in "surrender" guise; Iowa in KW fit; NJ in VN guise, and Wisconsin in "last iteration" fitment.

Modelers would still have to cope with the differences between the hulls, but, they could start from a correct era.

I agree with CapnMac82. I was hoping they come out with a Super detailed Missouri or New Jersey  WWII version. They have a superdetailed Yamato now which if you will say that the Mo has superdetailed AMs, the Yamato has more. Besides I think it will be a good partner to the new Yamato.

Man, I'm sorry it's not going to be a WWII version, but in all reality, they already have a WWII Iowa class, in the Missouri kit, with loads of aftermarket already in place to support it. It is still King of the Hill in 1/350 Iowa class kits. There's not one finer to be had.

My hope is, they will make the new one where aftermarket deck veneer kits will go right over the kit parts in order to make it any one of the four sisters.

Four of the finest ships ever to be built for the U.S. Navy.

Be sure the aftermarket will pick up the niche and add sets to backdate the Jersey, Tamiya may have this in mind. Clues in the sprue arrangement may hint at a later (earlier) release.

After asking from sources, a disappointment. The announced new Tamiya BB-62 New Jersey is after all, the modern version not the WWII version. So the waiting continues.
