USS Constitution

G'day everyone.

I am currently working on the Constitution (US version 1/96), and noted that the German version states its model is about 4" or 100mm longer and with about 90 more parts. The price difference is around AU$60.00 more for the German version.

Would anyone know what the real differences are, if any? From the research that I have done so far, those who have commented reckon the kits are identical, which clearly is not correct given they are of different dimensions, number of parts and different product numbers, which may just be to identify their country of manufacture.

Any information would be appreciated and I will apologise in advance if this has already been covered.

Thanks, Errol.

Errol,

I am totally unaware of any differences between the kits.

Thanks Bill.

I may have to buy a German model and build it alongside my current US model. Only problem is the 5 hour drive to the model shop, but what the heck, it's worth the trip.

I'll let you know if I do anything that stupid. My brother has a 2 hour trip to the same shop and we are meeting up tomorrow (Tuesday, our time in Oz) to case the joint and see what they have on offer.

I think we will both be somewhat poorer for the experience.
