Ryan Cameron from Langley BC built a Bonny using the Heller Colossus kit as a starting point. In the end I believe he used about 10% of the kit. The Bonny was actually a Majestic class carrier, a further modification of the Colossus class. Laid down at the end of WWII, she was bought and purpose built for the RCN with the angle deck already present right from the beginning. The resin shipyard has announced a resin version of the Bonny in 1/350 scale. That one is probably at least 2 years from completion. Personally, I believe converting the L'arsenal kits to Bonny would be a major undertaking and certainly would require advanced modeling skills.

what scale? plastic or resin?

If you are thinking of the same kits as I am (Heller and L'Arsenal respectively), these are of the same Colossus class.  The Bonaventure though, was completed with modifications such as an angled flight deck and catapult.

It would be great to see a kit made of this, particularly since it is doubtful Canada will ever have carriers again.   Another option for the proposed gift is an aircraft on a flight deck of said carrier.

regards,

Jack

I want to do a model of this ship as a Christmas gift for a relative of mine who served on it. Are there any kits of this ship or of the same class of ship?

L'Arsenal of France makes a resin & brass HMS Colossus in 1:700 scale.  They also sell one as Arromanches

It needs to fit on a book shelf so not too big less than two feet long, and I don't care if it's resin or plastic
