Good point- I used to work in "marketing" and it had little resemblence to reality or common sense!

The fact that Trumpeter has announced a 1/200 Bismarck may argue against the idea that the Arizona release was a flop and they need to unload 'em.  In fact, they may be trying to clear out those remaining kits to make room for the Bismarck to hit the market without another big kit on the shelves.  Who knows what goes on in the marketing dept of these companies!

Yea, I'm going to get the Tamiya USS Fletcher for my first ship, I've herd its a good one to start with. Not sure where to go from there though. I plane on building at least 5 or so ships before even starting this one, adding in something new to each one (PE, weathering, ect)

Might be a good idea to build a simpler ship first, to develop the skills.  Best of luck, anyway!

I've never built a ship before so I'm probably a little more excited than most!

Price is down another 5%...$100.50

maybe if we wait long enough, they'll pay us to take them :)

My thoughts exactly.  Not many people want to buy a monster sized model like that, and Trumpeter is stuck with a bunch of 'em.  Wait 'til they show up on Hobby Lobby shelves for $29.99!

Shipping from China is $49 on that item, total is $154 shipped. I don't think there are any customs charges for plastic models any more...I didnt pay any, anyway :)

That seller is in China and I don't see any shipping charges.  Has anyone ordered from them before?

I suspect that after adding shipping, customs clearance charges, and whatever else, you are better off to buy it for $149.99 from Squadron, and if you add one more item bringing the total over $150, you will get free shipping!

I'm really tempted, but I have no ship building experience and don't know where I could display that huge model.

I thank you for the notice.

I'd love to buy the kit, but have neither the storage space, time nor cash for that kit right now.Sad

I don't have room for a ship right now, but I figure I can stash it till I get more experience with ships and have a place to put it.

Tried to order one 3 times today, but their website is screwed up, so forget it.  I like airplanes better, anyhow.

I got mine last week when I received their Special offer email. I was going to purchase one back in Dec when it was on sale but took too long to decide on buying it that when I did called Squadron they were sold out... till now. If you're considering getting one don't be a fence sitter like I was the first time or they will be gone.

As for the kit she is HUGE! and a lot of the features I'm trying to scratch build on the 1/130 Banner kit Trumpeter has included them including the accurate 5" open gun ports. Good thing the wife is visiting family in Tucson, the KA-Models Arizona detail set came in today from Squadron.  We will be moving back to Tucson in a year or so and this kit will be the first one I will start up I'm once back there.

Now to set a few dollars aside and wait for the day when Squadron has a special on the 1/200 Bismark. She's about 13" longer than the Arizona kit.

Did anyone else see this?

I'm really considering buying it and saving it for a later time as I have never built a ship yet.
