I read several years ago of a civil war or indian war era ship that was uncovered in a corn field in Missouri or Kansas or somewhere, that sank in the Missouri river, that was apparently miles from where it is today.

It's somewhat hard to imagine that a vessle that size could even be coverd with sane in the first plave. I understand the concept be casue bascally the boat sank in the sand, but still hard to wrap your mind around it.
Neat story, I wonder just how many boat have been covered by shifting sand and time?
