Just a little chuckle there,I hope.I recently acquired the "NEW " REVELL U.D.T. boat with swimmers.HEY,I didn,t know all those years ago when MONOGRAM did it ,that it was 1/35. Opened it up.(The box that is) and did not expect what I found.I have the original kit and four more from way back then.
They are cleaner, but definitely the same boat.Still doesn,t have a drop down bow ramp, but,oh well it is still an okay little kit with a lot of options if you let your creativeness run the gamut.I know I will on this one.OH,it still costs a way lot more than the original did.$1.49 vs. $29.00.Ah well I guess that,s progress.
I still recommend it to first time model watercraft builders who like to weather and do dios. You will get the most out of it believe me. It,s still nice to have the old girl back. GOOD ON YOU REVELL !!! TANKER-builder
I picked it up on the last re issue by Revell about 10 years ago. With a few new machine guns and figures this boat does have potential...
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

That was the first model kit I remember building--way back in the day. It was fun to play with, in the bathtub.
You are all too young to remember Flippy the Frogman, with the bicarb pellets that you stuck in his tank to make bubbles...
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
I had one of those bathtub frogmen...

Hey! I had one of those and that silly little submarine too! They were fun for the time. TANKER-builder
It would be nice if an aftermarket company would make a set of accurately-scaled WWII UDT guys to go with that boat...a figure in trunks with the recovery loop for the raft, and frogmen wearing trunks, masks, coral booties & flippers, and maybe pistol belts with knives on them.Hagensen packs and marking slate accessories would be cool, too, as well as a radio for the boat. I had a "Flippy The Frogman," too...he was a medium blue one, with a yellow tank. Had a lot of fun with him in the tub, pool, etc.
Heh.. Thread title had me going.. Thought it was about what to call a pair of Su-25s..
The 1/35 UDT/SEAL kit from Testor's/Italeri is something that you might check.. Has three or four figures and an inflatable..
Yeah, I thought that this was about the Grach as well....

Yeah I have had my eye open for that figure set. The perfect compliment for this kit. I have not seen one in many years...
Sadly, I remember "Flippy the Frogman"...Sure wish I didn't!
All the best
