Fellas,
I've been working on Digitalnavy.com 's kit. Here's a link:

Ariz is in the paper model folder. Enjoy the models folder too.

Wow, that looks sweet.

Also in the other folder, is the HMS Prince a Heller or Airfix kit?

The Royal Sovereign (spelling?) looks good. I wish I had the guts to try an entry level wood kit, the Royal Sovereign looks pretty difficult.

Lon,
Yes. HMS Prince. It's Airfix. They weren't affiliated w/ heller then. That kit is over 20 y.o. now.... and I'm still workin on it! I used floquil foundation on bare plastic, the floquil wood stains. Ya otta see the individual deck planks!
The lg wooden one is the Soverign. I've built two small solid wood hull kits (Sterling or scientific), then the Bluejacket USF Constitution (also solid hull, but 36"+ long) The Soverign is my 1st plank on bulwark monster. It gets a 2nd layer of walnut. That smaller plank job is a copy of the Rattlesnake. Any one can do them IF he's massochistic enough.
I've spent most time lately on the Ariz.
I wanted to reply this morn but... excuse me DAMN POP up ads!!!!!!!
I would have replyed earlier but had a bug in my system files. I think it's ok now. Glad u liked the pics. Be seeing you, Doc

Doc,
Thanks a million for giving me an idea and to save $30.00. I have the Trumpeter Arizona and I never thought of replacing the poor Kingfishers with paper. I guess I need to thing out of the box and really use the box (pun intended).

Also, I see your another modeler who likes to use stains on plastic. If I can ever get my foto site working, I'll get some of my pics posted. I use stains and oils a lot.

Best regards and really nice work you have,
Scott

Well beam me up Scotty!
Those pics I'd like to see. Do U use any particular oil/stains? How about gold leaf? (Ol' ship figureheads) Do U use the Floquil foundation as your base coat also?
I use a HP 315 Dig cam. with some old binocular lenses held in front of the camera lens for my close ups. Works well.
Be seeing you, Doc
