Thanks, helpful.  What material did you use for your hull?  Any pics?

i've got 2 of them somewhat built of ebay. 1 of them i'm making as the curtiss & the other as the currituck. the curtiss i've added to the hull to make it a full hull which i'll do to the other. the flight deck overhang i removed on 1 & will do on the other. did all new decks & superstructure on the curtiss & will do same to the currituck after i extend the hull. drawing from navsource www.navsource.org/.../09410711.jpg

Anyone built this classic Revell kit?  I picked one up pretty cheap at the LHS so I figured I'd give it a wirl.  I wish I could find the missile version, USS Norton Sound, but that one I've seen on ebay for over $200.00.  Seems a bit retarded to spend that kind of money on such an old, basic kit, but to each his own I guess.  The one I saw on ebay was even open and partly painted.  I saw where someone here scratch-built the parts to do it, guess I could give it a shot.  The Mariner is a nice little kit all its own.  There were a couple sink holes and some seam lines but I got them all taken care of easily.  Anyone have some spare 1/400 railing?  I'd like to cut off the molded railing, looks like poo.  If I can find some drawings of the entire ship I may try to finish the hull underneath and add the props.
