It turned out that the USS Missouri I am excited about turned out to be a 1991 version so that when your read between the line of profit it is just a New Jersey with a different name, ugh!

Actually, the 1991 New Jersey and Missouri are different, especially in the shape of their ECM platforms on their towers. I'm not sure what kits you are referring too, but if those differences are on the kit, it cannot be said to simply be a reboxed New Jersey.

Well seeing as there is a WWII Missouri it actually makes sense to have a modern fit Missouri as Missouri is also the most Iconic warship from the first Gulf War as being the first ship to launch a Tomahawk missile strike against Iraqi targets back in Desert Storm. True Tamiya could put out a new tool WWII Missouri like they did the Yamato but you do realise that doing so would drive the price up to Trumpeter level. I just feel IMHO that with some PE detail and some other AM goodies one could make the old tamiya Missouri look like the real thing with probably a smaller price tag than a $100+ kit from Trumpeter. Besides look at the newer wood vener decks from KA-Model those do greatly improve on the kit.

I'm a little confused. Is Tamiya releasing a 1/350 USS Missouri as she appeared during the Gulf War? If so, I would buy it.
And, if they released a new-tooled kit of her as she appeared in 1945 to match their new Yamato, you are looking at a $400.00 kit!
HMMM , Being as how I have NEVER built this ship,I would settle for a good to better 1945 MISSOURI.For some reason ALL my REVELL -"VICTORY at SEA "kits were minus the MO !
Never liked the so called motorized "scale" version either.I have a modernized NEW JERSEY.I would love to get my stickies on a WW2 version of this iconic warship, so I could have a MISSOURI in my collection. TANKER-builder.
