Anybody who's at all interested in 1/350 American warships - take a look at this: http://www.freetimehobbies.com/NSA350506.aspx
Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.
f IllThose are awesome! Jtilley, you are going to empty my bank account as I crew up my Big E and Mighty Mo!
On the bench-1/350 Zvezda Varyag, Trumpeter Slava class Varyag and Tamiya CVN65 Enterprise. 1/400 Academy Titanic and 1/96 DeAgostini Victory.
I'm not swearing at the start of that reply, just couldn't erase the bit at the beginning!
I can see that they could come in real handy in the not too distant future.
If i was your wife, i'd poison your tea! If Iwas your husband, I would drink it! WINSTON CHURCHILL
Good detail on the squids. But not enough of them to make a decent chow line.
I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
I bet they will cost a small fortune, but I could see them on my 'Mighty Mo'! If anyone notices when the price is announced, please let me know!
Well, Freetime Hobbies hasn't announced the price yet. But the same company makes several sets of German figures that are currently available, and the prices, to my notion, aren't at all unreasonable: www.freetimehobbies.com/NSA350504.aspx . Lest we get our hopes up to high, it's worth noting that the big majority of the figures in the German sets come from the same mold; there appear to be only four or five different poses in the set. The American set appears to have quite a few more poses - and thus will probably cost more. But I'm thinking that one set would populate a destroyer pretty effectively.
We shall see.
I just checked out those German figures and cannot believe my eyes at how much detail is in figures so small!!!! I can only hope they have plans for Royal Navy and Russian too! I think my future plans for a 'Prinz Eugen' are a little closer than they were 10 minutes ago!
Why are the German figures not pre-painted like the American one? Anyway, I'd like to have them both.

At this point, all we seem to have regarding the American figures is the "pre-availability" announcement from Freetime Hobbies. The pictures in the ad are, of course, computer-drawn graphics. The pictures of the German figures (which are now available) certainly appear to be photos of the actual products. There's no verbal indication that the U.S. figures will be pre-painted. There's no verbal indication of much of anything in that ad - probably because the folks at Freetime don't know much more than we do at this point. I suggest we keep our fingers crossed and watch that space.

Hello Professor. I believe those are computer renders as well, although the image is small and a bit grainy. If you'll notice that there are shadows on the figures, but no shadow on the background, and the background has no change in it's color gradient. The shadows on the figures look like Ambient Occlusion to me, not true shadows.
I'd love to have some IJN figures for my Mogami, Akagi, Ise, I-400...
Thanks for posting, I'll be watching with interest.
