What Class of Ship is this?
Posted by Big Jake on Saturday, November 24, 2012 5:59 AM

Try as I might, I can't quite figure out what class of ship this is.  I think I'm being confused by the placement of the ships wheel vs. the mast and hull.  Take a look and try to figure out what the artist had in mind when he came up with this ......er ship.

That,s NOT a class of anything. This is a travesty of marine art in excess. Even a HERMAPHRODITE BRIG at it,s worst would look better. You have given us a good laugh.Thing is,when a customer wants a model,I get "You know, like the ones you see at MICHEALS or HOBBY LOBBY" That,s what this is It,s CLASSLESS.      TANKER-builder

It would seem to be a finely engraved London schooner ark livestock carrier.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Looks like he perhaps started with the Titanic then thought he was drawing a paddlesteamer so did a bit more then forgot again and added the masts then finally threw in an anchor for good measure. It should appeal to almost every shipbuilder in the world. Needs some guns though! Jockster.

On the bench-1/350 Zvezda Varyag, Trumpeter Slava class Varyag and Tamiya CVN65 Enterprise. 1/400 Academy Titanic and 1/96 DeAgostini Victory.
