I just hope that they do commission CVN-80 - I can see them deciding to cancel her for budget reasons but still keep all the politician-names ones. Stick out tongue

It really is kind of amazing, when you think about it - FIFTY-ONE years. That's got to count as a life well lived in anyone's book.

USS Enterprise Decommissioned, CVN-80 to be named...

USS Enterprise!

It was announced during the decommissioning ceremony yesterday in Norfolk, Virginia, that the next Gerald R. Ford class CVN after the new USS John F Kennedy CVN-79, will be named Enterprise. That will be probably ten years from now the way I figure it. It won't be commissioned until 2027 and will be rplacing the Ike, CVN-69.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
