Sturgeon class subs- any kits out there?

Great, thanks!   I'm surprised at the dearth of kits for this class- I wonder why that is.

The Scale Shipyard has a fiberglass hull for the STURGEON class.  The 1:96th scale version is 36.5" long.  Plans and resin fittings (dive planes, sail) are included; you'll have to provide a prop and stand.

MicroMir has one available in plastic 1:350 scale.     Check Freetime Hobbies, importer in US.

Also available from Freetime are several 1:700 scale resin kits from OKB Grigov.

There used to be kits available from Yankee Modelworks (1:350 scale) and DML/Dragon (1:700 scale).  They're currently out of production.

You might contact Brandon at Freetime and ask if he may have an old Yankee Modelworks kit.  Freetime bought the Yankee masters and is reworking them for release under thei in-house label Blue Ridge Models

Odd..  the only kits seem to be from ex-Soviet bloc countries.
