Hello All,

Lest anyone think I don't build any longer; I do, when I can (my life has become so very busy). This was supposed to be a quick little project, but I got carried away.

Typically me.

The model is based upon the d'Albertis version, one of the first really good interpretations of the Niña, though there were problems with shape, and it appears to have been based upon the original drawing; later, he received a commission to build a model for the city of Genoa. In some proportions, it is almost like the Monleon/Spanish Commission version from 1892 as well (if I land another one, I might try that conversion).

These are just a few images... I plan on doing a write up, time permitting.

To answer your question, there is, also ex-Pyro. In fact, I have both the Lindberg and the Pyro kits; I plan on building one up as Ponce de Leon's capitana "Santiago".

Looks great Rob, glad to see you back to building.

I like the details you've added, it really enhances that old kit.

Is the deck planking strip styrene or did you use something else? I've seen a build with printed paper decks but yours looks like individual strips.

Looking forward to seeing the completed build and your write-up.

Nice work up and fine detail on such a scale. :) I too am fond of retrofitting and modifying my kits...to make them *POP*. Great job!

I remember your HMAV Bounty. Once again, you are doing magnificent work! I do have one question . . . if this is an old Pyro kit, was this one of their smallest kits? I'm not sure which series it came from.
