Revell CSS Alabama Instructions
Posted by pmichener on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 7:26 AM

Recently purchased the Revell CSS Alabama Kit at a thrift shop.  No instructions and all the parts are off sprues.

Can anyone point me to a site with downloadable instruction sheets for this model.  I built this ship in my youth and would like to start with this kit soon.

Here is a prior thread. Maybe the guys involved in this could be of assistance.

I am currently building the Revell CSS Alabama and I have somehow lost the instructions during a move. Do you still have a copy of the instructions? dennymo091587@gmail.com

Go to Revell.com, parts and service, click on instructions. Alabama is fairly far down the list, you can download the document.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Came across this ancient thread.

Just wish someone would make an ACCURATE kit of the CSS Alabama in plastic a bit smaller like 1/144th scale.

Bugatti Fan
make an ACCURATE kit

The never-ending lament of the scale ship modeler.

The box says "hurricane" on it and has spitfire parts inside, and we are to go "ok, 'close enough'."

And, we have to acknowledge that reference materials can be thin on the ground for historic ships.

And, then we need to have resources like these various fora, too, so that we can share that the Alabama kit actually is a better start for Keresarge than the kit box bearign that name.  (And acknowledging that's an arm's-length sort of proposition.)

While I'm at ti, I'm not sure I'd want to make up deadeyes at 1/12"=1'-0" scale (1/144) as the 1/8"=1'-0" (1/96) ones are curst small as is, especially at the topgallants.  But, I do understand not wanting a kit that wants a glass case larger than a 500 gallon aquarium, too.
