I just finished painting and weathering the hull and the interior of the boat. I used a thinned black wash of craft acrylic paint (all I ever use) and it came out pretty well detailed. I also improved the looks of the one gunner figure by replacing his head and helmet with one from DML. I also detail figures by painting them the uniform color, in this case dungarees and chambry shirt and Kapoc life jacket. Then I used the black paint wash and then highlighted the details including his face and hands with drybrushing, the results so far a pretty fair. Also be sure to check out my kit reviews on www.hobbylinc.com, also my two FB pages; "Hobbies in a Barn" and "Building Historic Dioramas" both pages that I started to share hobby ideas. Thanks for the support from a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer that served in the Naval Special Warfare Group in Vietnam.( www.warboats.org) and( www.seafloat/solidanchor.org) have lots of references about small boats.
The best,
