Hi guys,

Over the weekend I entered the Bismarck into the Australian Model Expo Championships in Melbourne. It was a great event and there was so much to see. Many many great models to look at.

Although i didn't win in my category, I did received a commendation award which I am very pleased about and just wanted to share with everyone Smile

It was great to see the final product on the amount of effort that went into all the models at the show. Cant wait to see what next year has in store!

Well, here are some build photos as promised. Turns out I had a few more than I thought Stick out tongue

They aren't from every single process but stages it was completed in. You can tell how bare bones some of the detail in the kit was in the early stages. Either way, Enjoy!

Phil,

I do have some photos of the build process but unfortunately I haven't taken many. When I get home I can upload a few. If you have any questions i would be glad to help.

Hope I can do half as good a job when I take mine from the stash! Do you have any pictures from the build to help the rest of us?

Phil

Thanks for all the support guys! I did use MK1's wood deck for the ship, and stained/washed it slightly to add some variation to the tone then sealed it. It was a bit nerve racking trying to get every bit to line up properly, especially the large fore and aft sheets. The swastika banners were painted white, then masked up and sprayed the red over it to create the circle. The swastikas are 1/32 aircraft decals. In the end, I am happy with the results!

Even if its wood I would like that class. I am not a fan of wood decks, but you hit it square on with the way it's stained. The model looks like the real thing. Incredible job.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

That is a gorgeous model ship, and huge!

Is the deck painted or an AM wood product?

Jack
