Saw one for sale at the local hobby store last night. Must admit it was bigger than I thought it would be. Had a sticky note attached; SWASTIKA DECK DECAL BEHIND COUNTER. Huh?

It's probably an aftermarket decal that they have for sale.

I don`t think so. The kit was open.

Maybe, seeing as the kit is open, that they kept the decal behind the counter to prevent its theft.

The decals included with the ship for the deck swastika's are not complete (the cross between the perpendicular bars is not included and has to be added by the builder). Free Time Hobbies has a set of complete decals.

Kind of like the easiest thing to make, donnchathink?

As to the subject, if you've ever lived in Germany/ Denmark like I did for a while, it's a symbol that cannot be included in a kit marketed there. Good reason for that as that symbol was a flag that did a lot of harm and falls under current versions of our RICO laws. Didn't know that? Look it up.

Makes one wonder what else was "behind the counter"?

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I really don't get why they can't display it in Germany its a symbol that has been in use for hundreds of years way before the *** in fact Hitler first saw the symbol in a Catholic church when he was a boy
