Hi, I'm a retired Ford, GM, & USAF person who has been trying to get back into the plastic model kit building again. I just started late last year after a 50 year hiatus. I'm into WWII ships and planes; ships I like in the 1:350 scale and aircraft in the 1:48 and sometimes 1:32.
Right now I'm in the process of building Trumpeter's CV-13 the USS Franklin. I'm trying my patience on the 16 scale model aircraft that go with the kit. My question to those of you who have more experience than I do is: how do you get the propeller of the sprue? I've tried my nippers, razor saw, x-acto knife, but all I accomplish is to separate the prop blade from the prop hub/shaft.
Models have changed a bit over the last 50 years, but I've gotten hooked again and love it. Thank you in advance to those of you that send me any suggestions.
