Some Current Photos from BB-35, USS Texas
Posted by CapnMac82 on Monday, April 29, 2013 10:07 PM

Since there is at least the one WWII US battleship build current.  And, since I get member updates, I thought I might share some Photos.  This especially for showing the foredeck, and including some detail on the ground tackle.

Note how the color changes with nearly every photo.

It's always struck me, for how long th eforedeck is just how short the chain stoppers are--not much more than pelican hook, link, turnbuckle, and a couple more link before the shackle on the pad eye

The "not bright" paint scheme on the Tompions is controversial among the staff.  They have a "pretty" set, some in red, some in bright blue, all with a gold (brass) star and white lettering reading "U.S.S. TEXAS"  What they do not have is a full set of ten--other than of  the "at sea" set installed.

The facebook page is here (which may be wobbly for being https):  https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=495656243805552&set=a.495656190472224.98370.426591954045315&type=1&theater

Thanks CapnMac. The staff of the Wisconsin here in Norfolk don't agree with a lot of things either, even among the ones who were actual crewmwmbers.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
