Converting the 1/96 Cutty Sark into the Glory of the Seas

I'm having image issues....but I have some here of rigging her port ratlines.

Another at the Glacier fish Co. Dock.  She was a very large wooden ship and well built...lots of detail in this image.

Here she is in her hay day.....beautiful ship still running her composite masts. Just after her first refit.

Here she is in ballast..waiting for cargo.

After she came back from Alaska and before she was sold to the scrapper.

Some history of the Glory.....Here she is is Tacoma being fitted as a new canary ship.

Doing ones study and homework can result in lots of data to aid in your builds.  This insignificant image of the Glory when she was a canary, reveals lots of information..such as the large pump and gunwall details.

Yeah David....I was working so fast and on several models at the same time that I needed to take a break so I could focus on some family issues.......I hope to get back to the Glory as soon as I can.  I have been doing lots of reading too...in prep for my next build...the Donald McKay clipper.

As you may have seen...I do lots of prep for my next build..while I'm working on my current build.  I still have to get to the Ferreira too.  :(

My version

A closer view reveals her beautiful figurhead and how she is cut into her bow.

I located a much better image of the Glory on the ways..in McKay's yard.......

Fine ship..love her lines.

You may have noticed the backstay spreaders are missing......I will be adding them later..however, for your information..the Glory had them removed after her 1875 refit and mod.  I am building her as Donald McKay originally built her...Not as she is depicted in many images after 1877.......

And one of the entire ship......I opted to go with one side at a time..instead of lower then tops and flying tops.  I was able to work faster by permitting myself lots of areas to glue and run the shrouds.  While I

simply did things slower on the CS ratlines.

I will begin the port side soon...all at one time again.
