I have not built a serious model for many years. In the past I have built two 1:96 Revell USS Constitution Kits, t he first was when I was about 10 or 11 yrs old. Now that I am much older I would like to have another go but this time I would like to add more detail and realism to the build. I have both of the above kits and when I build them I would like to upgrade the guns to brass with wooden carriages, add a stove, buckets, barrels, brass belaying pins, wooden blocks, etc. The problem that I have is finding these after market parts in the proper scale. Most web sites I have checked do not list their parts in a particular scale but instead give simple dimensions in millimeters. Unless I know the actual dimensions for instance of the real stove on the Constitution, conversion programs are pretty much useless. Anyone have any ideas of how to figure out the correct dimensions of detail parts to fit a particular scale without first knowing the full size dimension of such parts? I know that Mamoli produces a wooden USS Constitution Kit in 1:63 scale. Do you think that parts for that kit would be close enough in scale to not be noticeably to large for 1:96 scale?
