This may not be of any help (most of you who are interested in this subject probably already know this) to experienced modelers but I thought I'd throw this out here anyway.
I'm building a WWII Gleaves class destroyer (Converting Dragon's 1/350 USS Buchanan - DD484 to the USS Duncan - DD485) and, through a little research, found that LifeColor acrylics (if, as I do, you prefer acrylic paints to enamels) are the way to go. I've only found them in "kits" - boxed in sets. I've also found them to be difficult to come by in the USA and somewhat pricey.
The short of my thread is that I found them available at LuckyModel.com for what I believe is a reasonable price (I use PayPal and they charge 4% for doing so - be warned). I have paid $24.48 per set for #'s 1 & 2. I takes them a bit over 2 weeks to reach me in Salem, Oregon from Hong kong but I have plenty of time. Their price is actually $17.99 + $5.55 S & H, plus, in my case (for using PayPal), another $0.94. That works out to what I mentioned above and I believe it to be a fair price.
I'm just throwing this out there for anyone who might be looking for those two sets.
