I need some help scratch building a rudder. I have seem to lost the one that came with the kit. I'm building the USS Arizona by revel in 1/426 scale. Any help would be great. Thanks everyone.

Actually it could be a nice little project. The real thing is pretty simple.

Find a drawing, maybe there's a side view in the instructions. Blow it up to the same size as the kit, cut it out and glue the pattern onto a thick piece of plastic like an old credit card.

Cut it out, round off the edges and there she sails.

Somehow I manage to lose a bunch of rudders too- usually I break them off.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

the drawing is in the link i provided. use .040" or 1mm sheet plastic for the rudder as that is what i did for my 1945 1/426 scale uss pennsylvania.
