I gotstarted on this ship and immediately started some improvements namely adding hatches to the areas that needed them and replacing hatches on the superstructures that needed the blobs that represented them to be replaced.
I also got started on the superstructure on the deck area

I don't have the deck glued down it is just sitting in the hull right now and the bridge is tacked on with CA so I'll probably remove it before I start painting.
beforeI paint the deck I will add some ladders but on the hull I am adding splinter shields for the single 25mm cannons that will be adding last along with rails.
here are the before pics of the splinter shields that I did add which are so far only 2 right now
here are the after pics of the same 2 splinter shields after they were trimmed to size using PE railing as a guide to their height and that same railing will attach to the splinter shields like on the box art.
this is actually as far as I've gotten right now but I also have the Tamiya 1/350 scale Yukikaze also coming in as well. Right now I'll need to figure out what other improvements I need to make other than picking up another set of LionRoar conduits to add the missing hull degaussing cables. And I'll probably replace the barrels of the 12.7cm turrets with brass barrels that I have laying around.
BTW I am going for the Operation I Go fitting which the model is supposed to represent in the box art.
Also if I build this model again I am going to fit him out as he appeared after the war prior to his transfer to the Taiwanese Navy basically cutting out styrene to cover the 12.7cm turret locations and the location of the Torpedo tube turrets as seen in pics.
