Atlantic Ocean color?
Posted by DParks on Friday, September 13, 2013 10:44 PM

Hello,

I'm working on a 1/350 scale submarine (waterline) in the Atlantic Ocean. Any suggestions on the color of the water? I will cover the base color (or colors) with Mod Podge to simulate the surface waves and gloss gel medium for the larger waves. The sub will be placed in clay on a wood base and then painted. Thanks for the assistance.

I've always felt that the north Atlantic is somehow darker blue than the Pacific ocean.

Chasing the ultimate build.

Once in deep water most of the color you see from above is reflected sky color.  I have heard that North Atlantic is much stormier and cloudier than much of the pacific, so that might account for the darker sky color.
