Railing Installation
Posted by Marcus McBean on Monday, October 21, 2013 8:33 PM

I am putting together a 1/350 Trumpeter Liberty ship O'Brien with a P.E. kit from G.M.M..  I been assembling and preparing many parts off the deck and I am to a point where I now need to install them on the ship.

I am working on the superstructure and was wondering if I should install the railings now or wait until I have cemented the structure to the deck?

I have read many great suggestions from this site and would really like to hear your thoughts.

I would wait until the superstructure is glued. Generally you want to install the fragile stuff last.

I second the idea of doing PE railings as almost the last step.  They are fragile, and easy to knock off.  I use thinned white glue to fasten railings to deck. It is almost invisible when dry.
