U.S.S. LEXINGTON - - REVELL
I know you are going to say " Not Agin " but I just can't help myself :
Enter the REVELL - U.S.S. LEXINGTON ( the 1978 version ) . Now a quite workroom .There is music in the background (Soundtrack from TITANIC ) hot coffee at my side ! I have opened the rather flimsy box .Gosh , this thing lasted all these years in this ? Well , It's flashomatic city . Hmm time to start cleaning that up . OOPS ! I am sitting at my kitchen table , newspaper spread out .The model in front of me . " Why it's the Revell model of the U.S.S. LEXINGTON .WOW ! it's full hull .Gee it's small though " My glass of Pepsi close by I look at the parts . " Gee look at those monster , square bodied guns ! WOW " "And those little bitty planes " " Hey , there's railings too , All molded in place .Guess they get to be silver like the Sullivans ? "
Workshop , " Well , this needs cleaning , sip of coffee . " Hmm They still didn't get that bow right ,did they ? " " Oh well , I'll fix that and use P.E.Too "
Oops , Back to the kitchen table , got to much glue on the island parts and it oozed down the side " . " Tried to wipe it off , Now I got a dull spot on the side of the island " Darn ! " " The hot rod music is neat "
Nuther sip of coffee in the workshop , Hmm , this P.E. Will work , Ah ! It's 1/500 , But it will look fine " " I'll just clean up that horrid bow and correct it and then after cleanup I will remove all the plastic walls " ( rails ) and get it ready for it's new parts " . " Oh boy , I not only have a set of P.E. for rails and ladders (well , two sets ) and the right radars " This little gem will be neat in my room ."
At the kitchen table " Gotter done .WOW " " That waterline was hard to do and it ain't straight on one side " . "The grey paint covered the glue runs too " . "Guess what ? I glued the planes down so good , when I tried to move one it made a hole in the deck ". " So I glued it back ". " Still is neat though" ." Wow , Did I just flashback ? Hmm , I guess seventy is a dangerous age after all !
The workshop " Well , finished my coffee and I guess I'll take a nap " . " Shoot that ship was ,SNNNch.Snaark ! Sorry , I drifted off . Bye !
