East India Company Paddle Frigate PUNJAUB: any detailed info available?
Posted by lundycalledthomas on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 8:47 PM

Hello to all,

I am considering a conversion of a battered Cutty Sark to the East India Company Paddle Frigate PUNJAUB.

The PUNJAUB  was sold to John Willis and Son during the dissolution of the EIC, and converted into the famous sailing ship TWEED.

Anyway, is there any detailed information available on the PUNJAUB? None of the sources I have checked, including vol 30 of the Mariner's Mirror, have provided any details at all.

Thank you,

Tom Lundy

Interesting project. IMO you's have to re-scale her as the Punjaub was a bunch longer.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Yes, you are correct. BTW, I am starting with a Revell 1/96 kit.

The waterline and below is the part of the kit I want to keep--some difficult to repair cracks have developed in the kit's gunwales. I believe that this is the portion of the hull that is similar to the Cutty Sark's.

I am interesting in making an RC model, hence the paddle wheels (far easier to water proof). I have access to a 3-D printer, so making sturdy spiders, etc. should be pretty easy. But I need some details (ugh).
