This was the old Aurora Enterprise (CVN-65), which was initially released with a prepainted flight deck.  It has been reissued several times, including later releases by Aurora, then Monogram, and then Revell Monogram.  It is not a very good kit-the Tamiya 1/350 kit is much better, but the best large scale Enterprise by far to date is the elusive Otaki 1/400 scale kit.

That must be it.
The deck was prepainted? I remember spraying the whole thing Krylon flat black, and then worrying about how to reproduce all the deck markings.
I don't think I ever got the deck on straight.
Thanks, paulnchamp!

It sounds like you're thinking of the 1/400 scale Revell Enterprise, which was a product of the late '60's or early '70's, if I remember correctly. You're right about the flight deck, the fit was lousy (but it WAS prepainted). This kit was recently reissued.

Am I nuts, or did Monogram make a 1/350 or so Enterprise years ago? I remember building one as a kid, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't Tamiya. My main memory is that the flight deck didn't fit AT ALL.
Anybody know what I'm talking about?
