I hadn't seen that, but then I haven't been looking for anything for a Type II. Nautalis have a wooden deck for that which is only $20. haven't seen a PE deck for a Type VII.

I think i have a link to one of those too but since (in my mind) wood
seems better I'm gonna try to use those.

Thx

EDIT: I see some of the sets with brass decks and yet it seems some have wood deck kits.  Which is better?

You have to do a search around, but there are a few items you can get. I just stumbled amongst most of the ones I have.

There are wooden decks for the Type VII from Nautilus. White Ensign doe sthem, but even for me in the UK its cheaper to get direct.

http://nautilusmodels.com/

Schaton Modelblau also does some metal items. Periscope and air intake, 2cm barrel and antenna, and 88 mm barrel, I have these on order. I also have the Eduard PE set, the U-Brass Flood and Vent set, which you get from White Ensign. And from AMP, their flags and waterline decals. Theres also the G-Brass metal propellers, got them on route as well.

I think that's about everything for the 72nd Type VII. I think the only sets I don't have are the White Ensign PE set and the Torpedo loading set.

thomcmdchief

I just ordered the first PE set I've found for this kit from Eduard, according to their site, its the first of three, and its in stock.  Happy New Year to all!!!

What would 2 more kits include?  Also,
I build subs - 1:144 and 1:72. Have 1:72 VII kit, same in 1:144 and hope to get a 1:72 VIIC/41
I found a few items at White Ensign and Eduard. Any other places to look? How do I know what all are available?

Also are there wooden decks available too?

Hey, at least it's free shipping!  Propeller

And to make you want to spend $400 on it even more, there's this gem from the description:

"SEALED BAGS, WITH DECALS AND INSTRUCTIONS.  BUT NOTE - INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT FOR THIS MODEL, BUT ONE SIMILAR TO HELP."  Huh?

I opened the link too and couldn't believe that price, did they legalized pot in Daleville Alabama too because he's smoking some good stuff if he thinks someone is going to pay that price. I got a C-41 version a few yrs back at a Hobbytown for around $48 along with my second VC-II for my stash. Think the owner was trying to get rid of some plastic because I got some good buys there. Sorry I don't have a second C-41 or I would have let it go and for a lot less than that fool on Ebay.

Seriously, has somone been smoking funny stuff over xmas.

I don't think /41 kit has been re released, so i think e-bay is your only option, unless an LHS happens to have one sitting around.

Hokey

Well I own this kit now, its sitting next to my Revell AG/Germany 1/72 U-Boat Type VIIC U552 which I hope to start soon.

My question is "where do I find:

Revell AG/Germany 1/72 U-Boat Type VIIC/41 Atlantic Version

I find references and build with photos all over the web but none to buy?

Jeeze looks like I'm going to add another U-boat to the collection, already have 3 of the 1/72 VC-IIC's and one Accurate Armor 1/35th boat and quay set which I call my retirement project. But as a kid in Chicago I toured the 505 a number of times hence the urge to get this one too.

I got them (along with about 40 other models) from a renter who was just throwing them away.  I saved them because I build models and if I can pass them along(For cheep) to another who can appreciate them...then that is what I want to do.   We can't cell items on these pages...but I can let folks know about them.  I also have 3 1/350 Trumpeter WW2 carriers, Essex, Yorktown, Franklin.  Lots of armor too.

Love them all..but I build sailing ships.

Why did you "pick them up" if not building?? Are you looking to sell?

I just picked up a 1/72 VII C , the 2 Trumpeter 1/144 Gato kits, one with the USS Gunard tower conversion kit both with full metal etchings kits.  And I don't know what to do with them...I'm not a sub builder.

Love them...but ain't gonna build em.

Any suggestions mates?

Just had a look at that set, looks like they are including things other people did for the Type VII. 3 PE sets is a lot of metal.

Ok, cancel my last. It cost me £8 more to get it in the UK then to order from across the pond.

Bloody typical.
