Revell 1:1200 QE2

This is my first post so I hope I am in the right area, so hi to everybody.
This is my review of the 1:1200 QE2.

This model is in my view the most detailed of all the 1:1200 kits that are provided by revel and if you are hoping for an accurate representation of the kit you will be disappointed. The model assembled by instruction is historically inaccurate with missing apartments, wrong colour funnel as well as incorrect superstructure. It is more correct in 1972 than 1983. If you decide to build in 1972, you are missing the bow anchor which was present but can be easily recreated and leave out the go faster strip, as well as the additional radar equipment on the apartments which did not exist. I decided to build the 1972 qe2 but left the radar equipment because it just looked nice.

In the box:
You get 4 veins, decals, documentation and a finely detailed hull.

The bad:
The model is completely inaccurate if you follow the instructions.
The qe2 name is in black for the stern so cant use that.
If you want to paint the stand black, you cant use the name decals as they are in black and red.
Missing bow anchor.
Boot line decals are hard to apply because they are so small.

The good:
Flash is at a minimum in this model kit.
Loads of detail for the size.
Easily converted into an accurate model of the ship
The price.

This model is all about paintwork to get the most from the kit so spend the time on the paintwork and research well as the outcome will show a beautiful model at the end.
To give you an idea of the size of the model, there is a 1:350 titanic, 1:700 QM2, 1:600 QE2 and other 1:1200 in the photos.
