Hello, it would appear that I once again have been bitten once again by the ship/sub bug. Are my only options for a 1/350 scale typhoon class(nato code name)e-bay or hope for a reissue? I usually lurk about armor and aircraft and won't bother you fine folks for much. Thanks

Yes pretty much so. There are two 1/350 kits of the Typhoon Class SSBN out there: Dragon and Alanger. Both are hard to find these days. Bronco has been gracing us lately with several new 1/350 Soviet & Russian sub kits in the past few years. Perhaps the will tackle this one as well in the near future.

Was it Revell that made a Red October kit? What scale was that? As big as a Typhoon is,that may have been 1/350.

The Revell kit was 1/400

Cyber hobby did a 1/700 scale with a USS Cole (DDG-67) combo kit.  Haven't started it, but I too have the 1/350 Typhoon and look forward to starting it as well.  I wish there were more Typhoons out there

I would be surprised if we didn't have a new-tool one in the next year or so from HobbyBoss or Bronco. The Alanger kit is more accurate than the earlier Dragon and Revell releases.

I have the zvezda k-141 kursk in 1/350, simple build and very interesting how the missle tubes are placed. I' never been on a sub but it looks like the design leaves a little more room for the crew. A typhoon would be perfect for my naval collection, the search and wait continues.

Alanger's Typhoon made Dragon's look like a toy. It's too bad that Alanger dissolved many years ago. Luckily I managed to acquire their K-401 & Typhoon a few years ago. The Typhoon is still in box. It's near impossible to find one these days.
