As you know, I am no where near being completed on mine.  As I said before, nicely done Dave!  I agree, you should at least case this one!

Well, if by museum, you mean on a bookshelf in the *Dave-Cave*, then you're right!...Actually, I think it might take the esteemed position in the big glass case that now houses my Black Swan...

Thanks for the kudos, Jake!

David,

I believe that yours is the very best I've ever seen and should be in a museum for the long term.

Actually, I have a co-worker who is good with a sewing machine...I gave her some muslin fabric, and the material from the kit as a pattern, and she sewed them up for me (I enticed her with a Barnes & Noble gift card!)...I took the airbrush and gave the sails a heavy dose of dark tan overspray for the dingy look, and voila!  I don't think I have what it takes to actually sew the sails up myself!

Thanks, Mike!

I'm really not fishing for compliments here, but they are welcome!

It's amazing to me that just a couple of years ago, I was introducing myself to the group and asking my first questions...I've learned a lot so far, thanks to the support and guidance of such excellent peers on this site!

One of my favorite parts about any kind of hobby is the sharing of ideas, and I'm so glad I can take the information I've learned here to shape my own style, and develop my techniques.  I thank the folks here for inspiring me.

Simulate wood?

David,

Your rigging shows lots of patience detailing the blocks (In the pictures you posted they look like wood and are very realistic), cutting off the ends of attachment points to the blocks, etc. In general a neat, orderly appearance. The painting is really wonderful. The techniques that you've evolved to simulate wood are on display here in force.

It's a real pleasure to view your work.

MIke

Looks great.

Looks like it belongs on base on a tilt, pushing a few knots.
