"A. 12 aircraft in a 1/350 carrier kit is ridiculous."
I think you need more than that to fill up a deck too, but you have buy more if you want to have more in this case.... same with anything else I guess :) I am doing 4 dozen or so, and I'm glad thats it for me as far as little planes are concerned! ;)
Anyway, here's a couple of pics of half of them, the torpedo bombers, I am doing. Here, I am removing the molded on canopies (what a pain I know, but I wanted to make pe canopies for mine, as in a pic further below, so they had to come off. Clear plastic is brittle I found out lol. Anyway...
and each plane has 8-9 decals (plus 3 more for each prop).... around 500 decals total for the airwing :) -as below, plastic canopies have been removed and new pe canopies, painted separately, will be added near the end along with props, etc.
Below are my first attempts at pe canopies (using a 1/350 "Bridge Windows" set) which were unsatisfactory...see pics further below for final canopies used
Starting on the Zero's:
There are 12 of these, plus another 12 dive bombers and the 24 torpedo bombers of course...lotsa planes :)
Thanks for your interest in my work TD4438! Cheers, Tim
