Considering this kit 1/150 heller Amerigo Vespucci, has anyone has any exp. with it, parts fit etc. thanks for any help.

Its a really nice model but it's going to take a fair amount of time. It's a subject with a lot of complicated detail at a fairly small scale.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

thanks for your response, I found a heller  La Reale DeFrance kit at a good price so I will build that for now.

Hi,

    I have a (heller amerigo vespucci 1/150) kit,unfortunatly the hull has been totaly destroyed.do you know where i can get a replacement hull,or do you know of a hull from a differant kit that will fit this one,

  It is a fairly nice kit.The problem is, some of it is kind of fiddly. It does build into a decent model though.

Hi Eric,

 

Welcome to the forum. It's a "one of a kind" model, unfortunately Heller didn't clone it to be other (false) ships.

It's not out of the question to ask them for new parts. I can't tell, but it still may be in production.

You could also consider fixing the broken parts. I'd be happy to give you a suggestion or two, if you can post a photo.

I would look for a spare kit, several always on Ebay. That way you will get your new hull, plus have many spares to back you up as you progress through your build. As others have said, this is a fiddly model, and you can expect some broken spars and other transgressions as you proceed. When done, whats left could be used on future builds perhaps.
