CNN? No way! I would have said they are the Wikipedia of journalism... but that's not fair to Wikipedia.
Marc
Actually, CNN would have placed the search for the crew somewhere in the South Pacific or Indian Oceans!

My apologies, it was a lame joke. I'm just so tired of the MH 370 story, where CNN created a story around the fact that there was no story...
Like Tim said, they'll have to keep looking for awhile.
I haven't read too much about this one, and the evidence seems scant. But lets see what comes of it.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
If CNN did say that, I'd like to think it meant that no human remains had been found in the wreck.
That's not surprising. As I remember the story, the ship remained afloat for some hours and everybody evacuated.
The best we can hope to find from this site, I'm afraid, are some wood fragments and - maybe - a few metal and ceramic artifacts. Apparently the wreck was looted pretty thoroughly by somebody or other; it seems there was a good-sized cannon barrel on it not so many years ago, but that's now disappeared. And the crew presumably took everything salvageable with them (except for things like that gun, which was too big to carry). I'm not optimistic that the rest of the site will yield much. But we can certainly hope. The wreck of the Mary Rose, which was under water almost as long, has been a treasure trove of artifacts. The people doing the investigation seem to be true professionals with the proper archaeologist's (as opposed to "treasure hunter's") mindset. Let's keep our fingers crossed - and wait for a History Channel show or a National Geographic article to give us a better idea of what's going on.
Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.
"They're dead, Jim!"
Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

Super-Neat! I saw a similar article yesterday, but there were no pictures...looks like there's not much left (naturally!), but maybe they'll find some solid artifacts! I wonder if we'll ever know whether the SM in fact had a forecastle! :)
Thanks for the link, Tim!
