Freetime Hobbies has set up a separate site, www.hobbypreorders.com , for stuff the manufacturers have announced for the future. I intend to add this site to the list I surf every day or two.
There are quite a few interesting ship kits on the way. Now Fujimi is announcing a 1/350 Kaga (for how many hundreds of dollars we don't yet know), and Dragon has a 1/350 Pennsylvania in 1944 configuration. (Might that hint at a real state of the art Arizona down the road?) And I'll have to buy the Airfix 1/400 Mary Rose, though I suspect it's quite basic. (Airfix is selling two of its old, old small-scale sailing ships in "gift sets": the VIctory and the Cutty Sark. It's pretty clear that they, and the new Mary Rose, are intended to be marketed in the ships' gift shops.)
Nothing else in the way of forthcoming sailing ships, but we may hope. This is a great time to be a ship modeler.
