One interesting thing about the Salem: she may be the only American warship that's ever impersonated an enemy one. She "played" the Graf Spee In the British movie "Pursuit of the Graf Spee" (aka "The Battle of the River Plate"). Good flick (though the Salem doesn't really look much like a pocket battleship).
Durr, I mean no offense, but your posts would be a lot easier to read if you'd use punctuation marks and capital letters.
Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.
I have no knowledge of this kit, but I have Combrig kits that are really well made.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
In that same movie, the RFA (Royal Fleet Auxiliary) tanker Olna played the Altmark.

I have not seen either kit. However, as Si Simms the suit salesman says, 'an educated consumer is our best customer' . He's talking about the value of brands.
ISW kits often have surface bubbles which drive kit assemblers to distraction. Their instructions are also often nothing more than an exploded drawing. What ISW does have going is a very good customer satisfaction policy. Anything broken/warped/missing when you open the kit - contact them and they'll make it right. Anything breaks, warped, goes missing while assembling the kit - contact them and they'll make it right. I've heard stories that they have supplied broken parts for kits years after the kit was purchased - kits which were knocked off off the shelf by the cat. This is for any of their kits - bought direct or through a vendor.
Combrig kits have fewer surface bubbles, but it seems that they do many more smaller/finer parts in resin. Instructions are better, but still are lacking when compared to what you get in a mass-market injected kit. Combrig is a Russian outfit and does not have as responsive a satisfaction policy.
Full disclosure: I have worked the ISW stand at several IPMS USA National conventions. I have made a couple of masters for ISW.
