fire hose color
Posted by uspsjuan on Monday, July 7, 2014 10:07 AM

So I'm back to work on my Revell 144 Fletcher. Nowhere in the instructions do they state what color the fire hoses hang on the bulkheads should be. I was thinking either white or a canvas color. Was hoping you fine folks here might be able to help me out here. Thanks

Two options here,   Paint to match the surrounding camouflage -- always a popular and correct choice, or go with a subdued gray canvas color.

See the photo of the Sigsbee above from the destroyerhistory.org website,   A drape of hose on the fwd superstructure below the number 52 mount.   It is between the open hatch & man at the rail.   Go to other photos at destroyerhostory or Navsource and the photos are indistinct or inconclusive.

Do not, however, paint the hoses bright white.  Also do not paint the life rings bright orange

Here is one with the hose painted to match the surrounding camouflage.

Research your choice of subject.
