QUESTION ABOUT FSM AND YOUR EMAIL
Posted by PTConsultingNHR on Friday, July 18, 2014 3:19 PM
How many of you, if any, have, recently received an email from a woman from a third world country who tells you that she saw your profile (and she even provides a link to your profile)on FSM and thought you were cute and that you seem nice and wanted to know if you'd like to email her so that you two could become first, friends and then, lovers? I already shot an email off to Matthew Usher, Tim Kidwell and Monica Frietag about this issue. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up ... Garth

Not yet,but recently I got one from Mrs Khadaffie explaining that she needed my help in getting her murdered husbands fortune out of Libya, and that their would be a handsome reward for anything that I could do to help.

And I also heard from a Nigerian Prince with a similar problem, but that's all.

No, and it's NOT good that she got your email. Garth do you have it on your website?

Edit: so I did find a contact email for you on your site, " ask@....".

i don't know if that's the one he/ she used, but I would NOT lay this on the door at FSM.

people don't get this...

all of our email Addie's and most everything about us is online somewhere. Those who know, know where to look.

BTW based on the experience of friends ( really), first you are friends, then photos get exchanged ( you'll get Miss Ukraine 2013), then a trip is planned to do the deed, then she'll need the money  for the plane ticket, and you can guess the rest.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

No.

again we shouldn't connect FSM with this and they really should be left out of it.

understand that I know nothing about our friend here, nor does his "secret admirer", but ifI were looking to scam lonely middle aged hearts it's hard to think of a better place to troll than  a special interest hobby forum.

We had an interesting case of this sort of thing here in NC. A professor of physics at UNC-Chapel Hill struck up an e-mail relationship with a famous model in Argentina. Apparently he's a genius when it comes to physics, but an utter chump (and a slightly dirty old man) otherwise.  He bought an airline ticket to Argentina to meet the woman.  In the airport, somebody asked him to deliver a suitcase to her.  (I think I have the story straight - at least the gist of it.) Argentinian customs stopped him, searched the suitcase, found drugs inside, and arrested him. He was put on trial and given a jail sentence (I forget for how long). And he never did lay eyes on the woman.

He claimed he could continue his research, and advise his grad students, via his computer from his prison cell, and demanded that UNC continue paying him his salary.  I think UNC actually did for a while, but just a few weeks ago the new chancellor (the previous one having resigned due to the big athletic scandal that's going on there now) cut off the paychecks. I think he's officially retired now; whether he'll get his full pension I don't know.  Probably so.

One more reason why I really don't take pride in being a professional academic these days.

But I'm sure FSM had nothing to do with this silliness.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

PROFF !

Don't downgrade yourself because of the stupidity of others in your profession ! I mean that now ! I have been called a Doctor of Maritime Technology / Power plants and Hull Design for many years now .There are those who even give my profession a black eye .

I guess we all have a cross to bear , but it should Not , detract from the positive things you or I or many others have done that is good .

Many are blinded at times and do stupid things .Why , well we are human and humans do stupid things based on many categories  .Only the experts know why and even they get it wrong a lot .

You have held the standard , and proudly I might add .You know nothing about me , but I only know what I have communicated with you on this site .Do I respect you , Certainly .Do I admire you ? You Bet !And I think we are about the same age too . So There ! !     Tanker - Builder
